Where this Kimdog model has some fabric that hangs off the seat to protect the sides of the seat, better models use more fabric so that these side pieces can also be lifted up and locked in place to protect your car door as high up as the window.

If you are actually using this seat extender for a dog, then there is even more lacking in Kimdog’s design. Many brands modify the space between the front seats to have something akin to a screened-in window. This provides better ventilation for your dog and gives your best friend the ability watch the scenery out the front windshield as well as enjoy a good view of you. Some brands have a pocket incorporated that’s just the right size for a leash, a couple of dog toys, and some plastic bags. Some manufacturers even use clear vinyl for the pocket so you can check at a glance that you have everything you need to head out the dog park.
